In 2007 the City of Nampa purchased 52 acres of land for the purpose of a multi-use park that has an emphasis on baseball and softball fields. The Park is in west Nampa on Midway Road and Smith Avenue. In 2015 the Midway Park Master Plan was approved by Nampa City Council and the Parks Department was given direction to start building the park. Construction of the first phase started in 2016.
Currently, the park offers four baseball/softball fields, six pickleball courts, soccer fields, futsal court, basketball court, outdoor fitness gym, a large picnic shelter, 1/2 mile fitness trail, green space and restrooms. Children enjoy the large playground that has swings, slides, climbers and spinners. Future phases of the park will be built as funding is available.
Six diamond fields for baseball/softball are planned for future phases.
The City of Nampa Parks and Recreation Department looks forward to continuing to complete the future phases of the park. At full buildout, the park will provide:
- Basketball Court/Futsal Court
- Fitness Walking Pathway
- 6 Pickle Ball Courts
- 2 Picnic Shelters
- Plenty of Green Space
- 1 Soccer Field
- Small Amphitheater
- Splash Pad
- Outdoor Fitness Gym
- Universal Accessible Playground
- 10 Baseball and Softball Fields
- Restrooms
