Nampa Parks & Recreation are continuing the protocols and guidelines that have been put in place to help keep our patrons, participants, members and staff safe. Here are some reminders: * Please remember that if you are not feeling well, stay home. Your workout, game or class can wait until you are feeling better. * Acknowledge physical distancing. While participating in activities at our facilities or in our programs, please maintain 6 feet between you and others.* Practice good hand washing/sanitizing. As you begin and end an activity please wash/sanitize your hands. If you are sharing equipment, proper hand sanitizing should be done prior to and after equipment use. * Cough/Sneeze into your elbow.* Don’t touch your face. Between the times you are washing or sanitizing your hands, keep from touching your face. * Face Coverings are recommended and allowed. *The Rec Center cardio & weight room equipment is spaced at least 6 feet apart to allow distancing while working out. There is a maximum number of participants allowed in fitness classes, again to allow for appropriate distancing. Additional sanitation stations have been added for our patrons convenience and ask equipment users to disinfect the equipment they use before and after use. Our staff continue to clean high touch points throughout the facility and hourly attention to restrooms, locker rooms, door handles, stair handrails and other common touch surfaces in the Rec Center. The spread of COVID-19 is affecting us all. As we do our part to contribute to the health & wellness in our community, Nampa Parks & Recreation wants to continue to provide safe activities and programs to help keep you and your family active. Nampa Parks & Recreation has mitigation plans in place that follow the CDC and Southwest District Health recommendations and guidelines to maintain safe spaces. The Nampa Recreation Center would like to thank our members, patrons and community for their support. In returning to the Rec Center you have demonstrated personal responsibility and been respectful of the guidelines and protocols we have in place. Our first priority is the health and safety of you, our patrons, our employees and our community. As we move into stage 3 of the Idaho Rebounds Plan we are happy to announce some changes in the facility. Most of these will be effective on Saturday, May 30, unless otherwise noted.Facility Protocols:• Continued cleaning and sanitation, with extra attention to high-touch surfaces• Providing increased hand sanitizer throughout the facility• No Open Basketball play • Open Volleyball with a max of 8 total players – 4 on 4 • Racquetball courts will be open for up to 3 players/court• Sharing basketballs and volleyballs will be allowed with proper hand sanitation and hygiene• Please limit locker room use – come ready to workout/swim and leave the same way.• Youth Activity Center will remain closedGroup/Aquatic Fitness Class Protocols:• Group fitness classes will continue to have class size limitationso TRX & Paddleboard Fitness will require registration – call 208.468.5777o All other classes will be on a first come, first served basis• Yoga mats will not be provided – please bring your own yoga mat• Sharing fitness equipment will not be allowed• Aquatic Fitness class Aqua Motion will be offered beginning June 1Aquatic Area:Nampa Recreation Center’s pool deck will continue to be open for fitness swimming, water walking and family unit/household recreational swimming.• Please continue to limit locker room use – come ready to workout/swim and leave the same way• Slide will be open – regular Summer hours• Diving Well will be open – regular Summer hours• Spa is open – 4 person maximum• Sauna is open – 4 person maximum• Steam room is closedIn an effort to keep you safe we are also requiring the following of our employees:• Requiring employee health screenings• Providing face coverings for our employeesWe have implemented guidelines and protocols to help our patrons and members acknowledge physical distancing and still utilize the facility for health and wellness. Nampa Parks & Recreation announces opening all park restrooms and some youth activitiesNampa Parks and Recreation will be opening park restrooms, some organized youth activities and day camps as of May 4, 2020. Additional openings will be evaluated in stages and are dependent on assessing the current health and wellbeing of the Nampa community.For the past several weeks, park restrooms in all Nampa parks have been closed due to the efforts to flatten the curve of the coronavirus. Beginning May 4, restrooms in City parks will be opened during daylight hours and cleaned twice daily. The City Parks and Recreation Department will also allow youth sport organizations to practice at city park facilities. Nampa Parks and Recreation staff have stated that field space will only be allocated for practices. At this time, games will not be allowed, and no decision has been made regarding when games may be scheduled. Organized leaders are expected to follow and enforce the “Stage 1 Protocols for Youth Activities” described in the Idaho Rebounds information. Park picnic shelters are not reservable for public functions at this time.In compliance with the “Idaho Rebounds” protocols, the Nampa Parks and Recreation Department will offer limited youth activities and day camps that accommodate suggested health guidelines such as physical distancing and diligent hygiene. Even though some small programs will be offered, the Nampa Recreation Center will remain closed to the general public until Stage 2 of the “Idaho Rebounds” State plan.While playgrounds at City parks remain closed for the time being, City leadership is currently discussing the guidelines and timeline around reopening playgrounds and hopes to have an announcement soon.
At this time we do not have a re-open date for the Nampa Recreation Center. We are working on a re-opening plan and when it is safe to open, we will. Until that time, stay well.*Charter Members: Your Charter Membership renewal date, 4/30/20, has been extended. Once the Rec Center re-opens, you can renew your membership at that time, without penalty. If you would like to renew your membership now, please call us at 208-468-5777, between 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday and we can renew your membership over the phone. Once the Rec Center is open, you will have 30 days to renew your Charter Membership and still maintain all Charter benefits.*Monthly Membership Fees: Your monthly membership payment will not be drafted on May 1. Annual Members: You membership will be extended the number of day we have been closed.

City of Nampa Closes Golf Courses and City Park Restrooms To support and encourage our residents to stay home, as ordered by Governor Little, and to reduce the potential spread of Coronavirus in Canyon County, we have decided to close our golf courses and park restrooms until further notice.The two Nampa municipal golf courses which are closing are Centennial Golf Course and Ridgecrest Golf Club. The City of Nampa closed playgrounds at park locations earlier this week and has decided to close restrooms at public parks effective immediately. While we understand restrooms are a necessity, our first priority is to protect our citizens against the spread of Coronavirus in Nampa.Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling said, “While I understand some will not appreciate the closure of the golf courses and restrooms, with confirmed cases of Coronavirus spread in Canyon County, we all need to do our part now in reducing the spread of this virus. Please honor the Governor’s stay-home order.”
CITY OF NAMPA PLAYGROUNDS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICETo prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the City of Nampa Parks & Recreation Department and Nampa School District will CLOSE all playgrounds effective immediately and until further notice. There are 23 city managed playgrounds within the City of Nampa. We ask residents to refrain from using swings, slides and avoid using or touching any other park equipment until further notice.Parks and Recreation maintenance staff will be taping off all playgrounds beginning March 25 and posting signs in English and Spanish at each site alerting residents to these closures.Although the playgrounds will be closed, the parks and pathways will remain open to the public at this time. Please note this is subject to any further guidance issued by the health district or State of Idaho. NAMPA SENIOR CENTER: The City of Nampa, with approval from the Nampa Council on Aging, will cancel on site meal service, senior classes, programs and events held at the Nampa Senior Center beginning Monday, March 16 and will be in effect until March 31. Meals-to-go will be available through a curbside service beginning March 16. Instructions for Curbside Meals: Please call (208) 467-7266 beginning at 7 a.m. March 16 to order (please call by 9:30 a.m.). If the line is busy, please keep trying. Meals will be available for pickup Monday-Friday from 11:30am- 12:30pm for a suggested donation of $5 for those 60 and over, and a $6 charge for under 60.
