Nampa Youth Volleyball

Sponsored by the Nampa Recreation Department and Toyota, this program will provide an opportunity for girls in the 4th-6th grade to learn basic volleyball skills and teamwork in a recreational environment.  Children register on a team coached by a parent volunteer.  Each week, teams will practice Monday-Wednesday  Matches are played on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm or 7:30pm.  This league will be played in the Nampa School District Middle School Gyms  **  September 11-October 5  **  Nampa School District Middle School Gyms  **  $45 (Register by August 29 and receive a discounted rate of $40!)  **  Coaches needed!  If you're interested in working with or coaching a team let us know on your child's registration form!  **

Format

The format of this program will be 6 V 6, meaning, six players will occupy each side of the volleyball court.   Points are scored by rally scoring.  Team sizes will be no larger than 12 players. 

Uniforms

Uniform Distribution: Teams will receive their game shirts at their first game. Uniforms will have a label with team name, player name, and shirt size ordered by parent/guardian at the time of registration.

NAMPA YOUTH VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

4th-5TH-6TH GRADE

LEAGUE RULES

You are a Positive Role Model for Youth

 

 

The goal of the Nampa Recreation Department is to provide opportunities for physical exercise, socialization, and learning for youth through sports programs.  Please remember that regardless of the league or caliber of competition, the main goal of the program is to have fun and provide physical activity.

 

Idaho High School Federation Volleyball Rules will be enforced in any other situation not            addressed below.

 

1.         Players - a maximum of six (6) and a minimum of four (4) on the court at any time.

2.         All matches will be three games or 50 minutes.  Once the 50 minutes is up, the match will be over.

3.         A scheduled match consists of 3 sets.

4.         Points are scored by rally scoring.  The first two sets will be played to 25.  Sets must be won by 2 points. If time allows the 3rd set will be played to 15 points. 

5.         No timeouts. Two minutes will be taken between each set.

6.         If the 3rd set has not been finished when the time limit is reached, the winner will be determined by the team with the most points of that set.  If the 3rd set is a tie when the time limit is reached, the win for that set will be determined by the next point.

7.         Service – Team A will on your schedule will serve in the first and third sets.

8.         Servers may serve from in front of the end-line if necessary.

9.         Substitutions will be eligible to replace anyone on the court. (It is expected that each player will be given equal playing time throughout the match).

10.       Line judges will be volunteers from each team.
