The Nampa Recreation Center houses five indoor swimming pools offering swimming lessons, water exercise classes and educational water opportunities. Patrons will enjoy classes such as lifegaurding, kayaking and scuba diving. With over 30 water aerobic classes per week there is an opportunity that fits everyone’s needs. Whether taking an educational class, exercising or swimming in the lap lanes, visitors will have a great time in our pools.


Lap Pool
The Nampa Recreation Center Lap pool offers 10 lanes and is 25 yards long. The Lap Pool is kept at approximately 80 degrees, a perfect temperature for strenuous activity.

Swimming Pool

The Lap Pool is a great competition swimming facility and is home to the Nampa Swim Team as well as a great place for recreational swimmers. Kayaking, scuba and water fitness classes are all found in the pools. Even with all of the activities available to our patrons, there is always space vacant for lap swimming.

Diving Pool
Our Diving Pool features a 10 foot deep swimming area! The Diving Pool contains a Tarzan swinging rope and a diving springboard! Children must pass a swimming test administered by the lifeguards before utilizing this deep pool.

Hydrotherapy Pool
The Hydro-Therapy pool is kept at approximately 89 degrees and is the perfect place for therapy, exercise, or recreational swimming. Many of the Nampa Recreation Center’s therapy classes and young children’s swimming lessons are held in the Hydro Therapy Pool. The depth of this pool ranges from 1 foot to 4 feet.

Recreation Pool
The Recreation pool is used primarily for fun! The Recreation pool features a 7-foot tall by 53-foot long waterslide, our famous Blue Heron water fountain, and a pool basketball hoop. Pool depths range from 2 to 4 feet. Everyone will enjoy swimming in this 84-degree pool.

Kids Pool
Our kid’s pool is 1 to 1½ feet deep and heated to approximately 89 degrees. It is the perfect place for the young child to enjoy the water. Parents must accompany all children while swimming in this pool.

Swimming Pool

The Nampa Recreation Center’s spa is for ages 14 and older. It is the perfect way to relax after a hard workout. Hop in for a soak and let the jets add to your relaxation. See spa guidelines for health warnings.

Sauna & Steam Room
The Nampa Recreation Center sauna and steam room are a great way to relax. Adults 18 and older can enjoy our sauna or steam room located inside the pool area. See sauna and steam room guidelines for health warnings.

Pool Hours
The lap pool, recreation pool, hydrotherapy pool and kids pools are open:

    5:00 am – 9:45 pm
  • Saturday
    8:00 am –6:45 pm
  • Sunday
    11:00 am – 5:45 pm

Water Slide Hours
Come enjoy a splashing good time on the Nampa Rec Center water slide. The water slide is 7 feet high and 53 feet long and a whole lot of fun!

Summer & Holiday Water Slide Hours
During summer and holidays the water slide hours are extended.

Tarzan Rope/ Diving Well/Water Tubes
Swing like Tarzan from the deck, dive like a pro from the diving board or float around like a duck on our water tubes! The depth of this pool ranges from 9½ to 10½ feet and the temperature is kept at approximately 82 degrees.

General Information
Age Requirements
An adult (18 years and older) is required to directly supervise a child under the age of six. Those under the age of six who are unsupervised will be required to sit on the deck until a parent comes to get them. Children under the age of 14 are not permitted in the spa, and those under 18 are not permitted in the steam room or sauna.

Pool Availability
At times, limited space is available in the pools due to swimming lessons, water fitness classes, and special events.

Swimming Test
Participants swimming in the Lap Pool or Deep Pool are required to take a swimming test. This test is required each visit and must be administered by a lifeguard. The swimming test involves swimming in the lap pool two lengths (50 yards) using front crawl without stopping.

Pool Dress Code/Diapers
Swimsuits are required for swimming in all NRC Pools. Street clothes, undergarments, sweats, cut-offs etc. are not permitted in the pools. Children wearing diapers are welcome in the pool as long as they are wearing swim diapers or snug fitting rubber pants over the diapers and underneath their bathing suits.

Floatation Devices
Due to patron’s safety, floatation devices are not allowed in the Recreation Center pools. This includes water wings and suits with floatation built into the suit. US Coast Guard Approved life jackets are allowed in the pools, and are available to check out when you ask a lifeguard. Noodles are allowed in the pool as long as the child stays where they can touch and are using the equipment appropriately.
