General Information

Slide Height
Anyone under 48" must have a supervising adult at the bottom of the slide. Slide is a single rider slide; one person at a time, no exceptions.

Pool Dress Code/Diapers
Swimsuits are required for swimming in all NRC Pools. Street clothes, undergarments, sweats, cut-offs etc. are not permitted in the pools. Children wearing diapers are welcome in the pool as long as they are wearing swim diapers or snug fitting rubber pants over the diapers and underneath their bathing suits.

Floatation Devices
The Nampa Recreation Center only allows coast guard approved floatation, such as lifejackets, to be worn in the pools. Coast guard approved floatation is designed to ensure that a child's head will be maintained above the water. Examples of non-coast guard approved floatation are water wings, inflatable rings and suits with built in floatation. Noodles are allowed in the pool as long as the child stays where they can touch and are using the equipment appropriately.

Pool Closures
Uncontrollable weather or other conditions may result in our outdoor pools opening late or closing early. The pool manager will make a decision on closing if the following occur:

  • There is a threat of violent weather or lightening (if lightening occurs for more than 30 minutes, pool will close for the session).
  • There is a strong steady rain for over 30 minutes.
  • There is mechanical failure or pool chemicals are unbalanced.
  • The number of swimmers in the water is less than 10 for at least an hour (low attendance is more likely on unseasonably cool days.)
