Currently the trail has sections that are undeveloped, making for a short walk or run. However, this trail has a lot of development potential and should offer miles of uninterrupted paved trail in the years to come.

From Sunset Oaks Park, traveling east toward the golf courses, the current trail offers just under a one-half mile of paved trail. There is another small stretch of developed trail that can be accessed from Franklin Road between East Water Stone Court Subdivision and Birch Lane.
