Therapeutic Recreation Services of Idaho (TRSI) is partnering with the Nampa Recreation Center to make Recreation Therapy available in the Treasure Valley. Recreation Therapy is a service that rehabilitates/restores an individual’s ability to participate in leisure/recreation. Namely among these challenges that TRSI specializes in are adults who need help overcoming: • Lack of knowledge and awareness for developing self-interests • Lack of motivation for getting involved in active, constructive and meaningful self-interests • Lack of skill for making leisure time active, constructive and meaningful • Lack of time or money for self-interests • Challenges engaging family in leisure together • Social/coping difficulties • Low self-confidence and self-esteem • Inappropriate decision-making • Ineffective or failed problem solving • Frequent and persistent boredom • Apathy • Stress • Unconstructive or negative free time behaviors and values • Intolerance to structure and boundaries.
