Therapeutic Recreation Services of Idaho (TRSI) is partnering with the Nampa Recreation Center to make Recreation Therapy available in the Treasure Valley. Recreation Therapy is a service that rehabilitates/restores an individual’s ability to participate in leisure/recreation.
Namely among these challenges that TRSI specializes in are youth who need help overcoming:
• Communication or expression difficulties
• Poor coping skills or impulse control
• Focus and attention problems
• Relationship development and maintenance problems
• Social awkwardness and isolation
• Low self-confidence and self-esteem
• Inappropriate decision-making
• Ineffective or failed problem solving
• Frequent and persistent boredom
• Apathy
• Unconstructive or negative free time behaviors and values
